The legendary Australian HALTER BRIDLE has remained basically unchanged
for over a hundred years. The Australian Stock Saddle Company version
features three rings on a reinforced cheek piece, which gives alternate
placement for either the buckle connector strap, or the snap connector
strap. The snap connector piece is convenient. However, the buckle
alternate connector strap is silent; no metal on metal. Use one system
or the other. More adjustment comes with an adjustable pall strap.
There is also an extended head piece, that goes back four inches behind
the ears, to give great strength to the jaw strap, on which rides a
brass ring, to which is applied a standard lead line, much like a

The horse is then tied to a tree, or whatever, during a break on the trail,
so the horse is not tied to a bridle with a bit in the mouth. The extended
head piece back over the mane means the horse cannot rub his face on a tree,
and remove the whole bridle! You do not walk home! The alternative to this
equipment is you place a nylon halter on the horse, then put a bridle over
the top of that and you have -- an amazing amount of stuff on the head of
the horse!!! |

Pee Wee Bit
NEW -- the PEE WEE
BIT from Australia, is a major breakthrough in bit design. It is light,
yet a great communicator to the mouth of the horse. The tongue slides under
the light and upward-curved unbroken snaffle bar. The queue for the horse to
turn right or left is a suttle pressure to the SIDE of the lower jaw -- not a
vice-like pressure to the corners of the mouth, common to many snaffles. The
horse will always turn away from that soft pressure, with his body naturally
following his head into the turn. (Bareback Indian riders hundreds of years
ago used the same principal, simply by tying a rope to the lower jaw of
their war horses. Reins were then attached to this rope.) The PEE WEE BIT is
extraordinarily versatile. Good for training young horses (and young
riders), yet in the hands of a professional, a horse can be taken to its
highest possible level of performance.
Sizes: pony, standard and warm blood.

Ring Cruppers
Cruppers are a good idea on the DOWNHILL plunge, especially on "slab sided"
horse. They are necessary on mules, for which there is an extra long
extension.

Breeching
Our breeching has solid brass fittings and is made from high
grade leather, with the butt and croup sections felt lined. Ideal for mules and pack
horses. Breeching is almost always necessary when fitting mules, who
are "slab" sided. It will prevent the saddle from going over the shoulder of
the mule on a steep drop-off. There are horses that are also slab-sided, and
a breeching is a good idea for them as well, especially if they are wearing
a pack saddle. Colors black or brown. Solid harness leather, all fittings
solid brass with stainless steel tongues.
Price $149.00

 |
This is how the breeching fits a mule. It has a great deal of adjustment. Says rider Pat Fish, who owns this massive mule:"This breeching works incredible well. Wouldn't leave home without it!" |
